View Full Version : How to connect to your SQL 2008 database using SQL Server Management Studio

You can find your database information in the MS SQL section of the control panel: (WCP http://wcp.hostek.com)

Open SQL Server Management Studio, the "Connect to Server" window will open. Select/enter the following:

Server Type: Database Engine
Server Name: "The SQL server name" (If you click on the database in your control panel it will provide you with the correct server name)
Authentication: SQL Server Authentication
Login: "Username" (username you created)
Password: "Password" (password you created)

Click "connect"

If you created the database in your WCP control panel and you are not able to see it when you connect to the server you will need to log into WCP, click the MS SQL icon. Now click the edit icon (looks like a pencil) next to your SQL Server database. In the popup
that appears, select your database user as the DB Owner and save the changes.
