This process requires two parts to complete the setup of a sub-domain as a new portal in DotNetNuke.

Part 1 - Adding the new Portal in DNN

Login to DNN as Super User: http://your-dnn-domain.com/login.aspx

Select the “Edit” mode.

Click on the “Host” link and select "Sites".

Hover over the small arrow to the right of "Portals" and select “Add New Portal”.

Fill out all required information and click “Create Portal”, either Parent or Child portal could be selected.

If Parent is selected, enter the sub-domain name (IE sub.domain.com). If Child is selected you must first create configure a sub-directory of the main domain (IE fill in domain.com/sub) then edit the portal adding the sub-domain name as an alias.

Part 2 - Adding the sub-domain to your control panel

Login to our control panel.

Click on “Sub-domains”.

Fill in the path, point to the root of your website for example wwwroot.

Click Save.

The only remaining steps would be to change the DNS for the domain name to point at the server, if DNS is managed outside of the Hostek.com DNS servers.
