    Post Passing variables in PHP

    Newer versions of PHP have $HTTP_POST_VARS deprecated so if you are trying to pass variables using code above it might not work.

    Instead of:
    $varname= $HTTP_POST_VARS['varname'];
    $varname= $_POST['varname'];

    Default Using Post method to pass variables from php site to site

    We need to pass variables from the mysql db for our Elgg site on a different server to the application we have on our virtual server at Hostek.
    The application has a url for us to Post the variables to a jscript form.
    What is the best script for this? cURL? php?
    Will we have issues with passing the variables through the firewall on our Hostek server?

    Hello, you should be able to do this by using something like Javascript or CURL to post the values to the form. The firewall will not block these requests but if you use something like jQuery's post method you may run into trouble with the POST request not being within the same domain. CURL however, does not have this limitation. If you have any other questions please let us know.
